Hot Spiced Cider and Mulled Wine

Coalpot Autumn Warmer's:

Hot Spiced Cider:

A great outdoor warmer... get those leaves raked up in half the time! Perfect served with a chunk of Sticky Ginger Cake. Put all the ingredients in a big pan or pot to heat..

2 Litres good dry scrumpy Cider,
1 Litre fresh Apple Juice...a good chunk of fresh
Ginger root, peeled and roughly chopped...
1 fat Cinnamon stick, 6 cloves or 2-3 Star anise,
and runny Honey or Muscovado Sugar to taste..

heat through gently till piping hot... do not allow to boil...it's delicious!

Mulled Wine:

Christmas in a glass!

2 bottles Red Wine, 1 Orange washed and sliced..
a fat stick of Cinnamon, 6 cloves, a little freshly
grated nutmeg...Muscavado sugar to taste.
heat together gently till hot and fragrant.

you can if you must, add water to dilute...or. even better, a glass or two of Brandy to improve it!
